Kalki Koechlin was born on 10th January 1984 in a small village in Pondicherry. She is an Indian film actress of French descents. In her early life after completing her schooling she studied drama and theater in Goldsmiths, university of London and worked with a theater company for two years.
She started with modeling assignments for television commercials before being selected for the role of ‘Chanda’ in her first film Dev D. She was introduced to the bollywood industry by director Anurag Kashyap. For her work in Dev D she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2010. In the year 2011 first she was seen in the movie ‘Shaitan’. In this movie for a particular scene she did a lip lock with a new comer Kirti Kulhari.
Her role in ‘Shaitan’ as well as in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ was critically acclaimed. ZNMD was another release of Kalki in the year 2011. She was paired opposite Abhay Deol. This year she was nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress in ZNMD. She also starred in the Anurag Kashyap movie ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’.
